October 28 - Bargaining + Mobilization Update
Bargaining Update
- We gave the Hospital a package proposal today around 4pm.
⁃ The Hospital advised us they have no response to our proposal tonight.
⁃ Our major outstanding items continue to be wages and staffing. We are still fighting for a number of titles including RNs to be comparable with the Buffalo market. On staffing, the primary issues continue to be around some of the ratios as well the penalty for not meeting the ratios.
Member Relief Fund Checks
MRF strike pay checks will be available:
- At the Irish Center tomorrow (10/29), 9am-8pm - 245 Abbott Rd
- At the Union Hall Saturday and Sunday, 821 Elk St.
In order to pick up your check, you must have photo ID (hospital ID badge is okay). If someone else is picking up your check, they must have your photo ID and their own photo ID, as well as a letter from you.
Checks will not be mailed. You must come pick up your check to receive it.
Solidarity with UAW
The United Auto Workers have been incredibly supportive throughout our strike. Yesterday morning, a UAW member on strike in Illinois was tragically hit by a car and killed while on the way to his picket line.We want to show some love and solidarity to the UAW family - please wear blue and yellow (UAW's colors) tomorrow (10/29), especially if you're coming to the picket lines. We'll also be handing out blue & yellow ribbons to wear, and taking some solidarity pics to send to UAW ❤Halloween on the Picket Lines
Halloween Party on Saturday - join us for some fun, games, and candy, 2pm-4pm
Costumes welcome on the picket lines throughout the weekend!
