We continue to make minimal progress in bargaining. Catholic Health continues to not make movement on our core demands on Wages and Staffing. Concessions on Health Insurance, Pension, and PTO remain on the table.

Common Table

We continue to have members come to the bargaining table so that management can hear firsthand just how bad the work conditions are. This week Mercy Radiology Technologists and CT Technologists were our guests. The message presented to Catholic Health is consistent: there is not enough staff, we are grossly underpaid and morale is at an all-time low.

There were some specific proposals exchanged. The CH committee gave us proposals on Disability and Workers' Compensation, and Precepting/Training. The Union presented proposals on Call-In Pay and Weather Emergencies.

Side Table

On Friday August 13, Catholic Health and CWA reached tentative agreements on the following items:

  • Mercy Hospital RN & STC Call In Pay: Current Contract

  • Kenmore Mercy Hospital RN & Technical Call In Pay: Current Contract

  • Kenmore Mercy Technical – Memorandum of Understanding – Dual CT Technologists as follows:

Effective upon ratification, all staff CT Technologists will no longer be required to function in a dual staff CT Technologist capacity. It is understood that staff CT Technologists assigned to the ED on the evening and night shift shall perform radiology procedures (x-ray), and the job description will be updated to include this information. It is agreed that, should an emergent need present, day shift CT staff will assist with performing radiology procedures in the ED.
